YATAI MTL
Twiner Studio developed the visual identity for YATAI MTL, a festival in Montreal celebrating Japanese street culture and street food. Maneki-neko was reinterpreted into a simple and friendly graphic style, and expanded into a series of cats with different colors and patterns to express the diversity and lively atmosphere of the festival.
The secondary poster explores a typographic approach by transforming the kanji “屋台 (Yatai)” into a graphic composition. The characters were simplified into bold lines and shapes so that the typography itself functions as a visual element.
